This is one of the new queens that I purchased from Olivarez queen producers in California. This hive is doing well. I like how her attendants form a kind of circle around her as they wait on her.
Bees are in short supply, but I was able to buy some hives today from a reputable apiary in Mississippi at a good price. They are having to scale back because of age and health concerns, but still I am happy that I have the opportunity to give some of their bees a good home here in Guadalupe County. Thien and I will drive over and pick them up around Thanksgiving. Can’t wait to meet the beekeepers in person.
