This evening when Mark finished his work, he came in and sat down. I got a beetle off his shirt and then I saw this thing!!! I wanted to get it off him but kept in mind that I wanted Mark to see what it was and also didn’t want it to bite him if I squished it on his shirt. So I got it off with a napkin and then we checked it out. That thing raises its front legs a bit defensively when it sensed movement nearby. At first we thought it might be a brown recluse but we looked at pictures online and it does not appear to be that. Anyone have an idea what this might be?
I have heard from Mark and friends (and have seen for myself) more spiders this year than usual. Mark said that at one bee yard today, he killed about a dozen of those huge yellow and black spiders that build big webs to capture our bees in for munching!
