Here is a look at the beautiful rosin boxes I’ve posted about in previous posts. I love seeing them out in the bee yards – really nice in a natural environment. The heat and drought continues and so the bees continue to try and survive. It’s been hard – really up and down. Sometimes Mark tells me he’s probably going to lose this hive or that hive but then he goes back to check and they appear to rebound. Not all do, however. It’s just tough to survive when there is simply no food. We keep praying and hoping it will rain so that the bees might have a little help building up for the winter months. But even during these difficult times, we keep in mind that we are blessed that our bees not only produced some wonderful honey for us this year but they managed to grow a bit to 68 hives total. Not what we had hoped for but better than many other beekeepers are faring this year. Can’t complain.
Good work, y’all. Keeping our fingers crossed for you!
Thanks Courtney! We’ve been thrilled to see how well your Montana bees are doing and how much honey they’ve produced this year. I know the weather here will change eventually.
Yep, we’ve got some happy bees this year! Whoohooo!
